The most dissonant, unstable mode — the tonic chord is diminished (b5), making a true Locrian tonal center rare. Used for color and passing harmony.

Fifths spread each scale wider per string than a standard guitar — fewer notes per position, longer reaches, and patterns that repeat cleanly across every string pair.
